200 Series Tail Light Installation Guide

Overview:

Our Bushdoof Plug & Play Tail Lights for the 200 Series LandCruiser are designed as a direct replacement for the factory units, using factory mounting points and connectors. 

What you'll need:

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Trim removal tools (if required)
  • Socket set
  • Electrical tape
  • Zip ties
  • Multimeter (optional)
  • Vehicle manual (for reference)

 

Step 1: Remove Factory Tail Lights

  • Check packaging contents, you should have:
    - 2x Bushdoof Tail Lights (Left + Right)
    - 2x Plug & Play Harnesses (if included)
  • Open the tailgate to access factory mounting screws.
  • Remove the two screws securing each factory tail light.
  • Pull the tail light straight backward to release the alignment pins.
  • Disconnect the factory plugs from the tail light.
  • Ensure no clips, seals, or mounts are damaged during removal.

 

Step 2: Prepare & Route Wiring

  • Connect the provided Bushdoof harness to the factory vehicle plug.
  • Connect the harness into the new Bushdoof Tail Light.
  • Secure wiring neatly with zip ties and keep clear of sharp edges or moving components.
  • No additional power tapping is normally required for 200 Series tail lights.

 

Step 3: Install Bushdoof Tail Lights

  • Position the new tail light onto the vehicle, ensuring alignment pins seat correctly.
  • Reinstall the factory screws and tighten securely.
  • Ensure the tail light housing sits flush against the body.
  • Repeat installation for the opposite side.

 

Step 4: Test

  • Turn the vehicle on and check all lighting functions:
    Tail/Park, Brake, Indicator, Reverse, and Hazard lights.
  • Ensure all functions operate correctly with no dash warnings.
  • Confirm all connections are secure and insulated.
