BD4 (Gen 5) Installation Guide

Overview:

Our Bushdoof BD4 Lights are designed for straightforward installation, featuring multi-piece controllers, robust brackets, and seamless wiring compatibility. Follow this guide to install and configure your setup.

What you'll need:

• Allen key (provided)
  
• Spanner (provided)
• Nutsert Kit (if required)
• Electrical tape
• Zip ties
• Multimeter (optional)
• Vehicle manual (for reference)
  

 

Step 1: Install Mounting Brackets

• Attach the mounting brackets to each BD4 Light using the provided nuts and bolts.
• Drop the nut into the back of the light — it will self-locate and grip.
• Use the included allen key and spanner to tighten the brackets firmly.

 

Step 2: Mount the BD4 Lights to Your Vehicle

• Secure each light using the supplied nut and bolt kit.
• If you plan on tackling extreme conditions, consider adding larger washers for reinforcement.

Step 3: Install the Controller

• Mount the BD4 controller in a secure location, out of direct weather.
• Ensure wiring is not rubbing on sharp edges.
• Utilize the multi-piece controller design for easy routing and assembly.

 

Step 4: Wiring Connections

• Connect the controller’s Positive (red) and Negative (black) wires to a 12V supply (battery, switch panel, or via a switch).
• Ensure 12V supply is fused.
• Secure all wiring with zip ties, keeping clear of heat and moving parts.
  
• Wire in the function wires if required via the wiring diagram below.
  
• To achieve an Amber/Yellow safety light connect both Turn Signal wires together and connect via switch or safety trigger (+)

 

Step 5: Connect & Configure

• Plug in all connectors and confirm functionality.
• Use the included remote to turn the controller on/off, control strobe modes and use the spot light feature.
• Download the app below to control RGB halo features and sync with other Bushdoof lights.
