Moisture In Custom Headlights - Bushdoof Lighting

Moisture inside your headlight is always normal, there are a few things that can lead to moisture build up. Please follow these steps to effectively remove moisture from your custom headlights:

Step 1: Access the Headlights

Open the bonnet of your vehicle and locate the headlight that's experiencing moisture
buildup. Ensure there is enough room behind the headlight.

Step 2: Checking over your headlights

Without removing your headlights ensure all pieces of the headlight is intact to see if thereĀ is a visible issue causing moisture build up (damaged housing, torn rubber seal etc).

  • Ensure the park light globe holder and indicator globe holder are securely clipped in.
  • Check that the rubber boot hasn't moved, damaged or peeled back.
  • See if the breather(s) have come off or if they are missing.

Fix any noticeable issues.

Step 3: Preparing your Headlights

If you have an enclosed headlight remove your park light holder to create a exit for trapped moisture to escape.

For Custom 7ā€ Headlights loosen the worm clamp & slide the rubber boot off just a fraction.

Step 4: Removing the Moisture

Now that you have created a place for the moisture to escape you will need to create heat in the headlight. The easiest way to do this is by starting your car and leaving the headlights on high beam (as this generates the most heat).

Leave your headlights on until the moisture is gone. This will usually take about 10 - 20 minutes.
