Angry Eye/Turbine Headlight - Troubleshooting

3 min read

If you're experiencing issues with your Angry Eye or Turbine Headlights (Custom Headlights or DIY Kits), follow this guide to identify and resolve common problems.

1. Identify the Problem

Ask yourself the following:

  • Are the low or high beams not functioning?
  • Are there issues with the RGB controller(s) (outer ring, demon eye, or app)?
  • Are both headlights affected, or just one side?

2. Low or High Beam Not Working (Bi-LED)

Possible Cause: Adapter, CAN bus, or internal projector fault.
Solution:

  • Check the H4 Adapter and CAN Bus Module: Locate the small adapter connecting the headlight to the vehicle's H4 plug. Ensure the adapter is plugged in securely. If your vehicle is negatively switched, confirm the CAN bus module is installed.
  • Test for faulty components: Swap the entire working setup (adapter, CAN bus, and headlight) to the faulty side.
    If it works, the issue is with the original setup. Replace each part to find the faulty one.
    If it doesn’t work, the projector itself may be faulty. Contact support for a replacement.

3. Low or High Beam Not Working (Bi-Xenon)

Possible Cause: 1N1 Adapter, Ballast, or Globe fault.
Solution:

  • Check the H4 1N1 Adapter: This connects your Ballast to the car’s H4 plug. Ensure both the adapter and the 2-pin plug are connected firmly. The 2-pin plug can be inserted two ways, depending on whether your vehicle is positively or negatively switched.
  • Inspect the Ballast: This is the gold or silver box that connects to the Globe and 1N1 Adapter. Ensure it’s properly plugged in and not damaged.
  • Test for faulty components: Swap the working 1N1 Adapter and Ballast to the faulty side.
    If it works, the original components are faulty. Replace as needed.
    If it doesn’t work, the issue is with the Globe.

4. RGB Controller Not Working

Possible Cause: Incorrect wiring, app pairing issue, or faulty controller.
Solution:

  • Outer Ring Controller (RGB Ring, indicators, park light):
        Red = Battery Positive (fused 10A)
        Black = Battery Negative
        Green = Indicator 1 (+)
        Blue = Indicator 2 (+)
        White = Park Light (+)
        Connect via MagicLED App and select SP105E controller.
  • Demon Eye Controller (Internal lighting):
        Red = Battery Positive (fused 10A)
        Black = Battery Negative
        Connect via LED Lamp App and select LED Lamp controller.
  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled and your app has access permissions.

5. Check Plugs and Connections

Possible Cause: Loose or damaged plugs, faulty controller.
Solution:

  • Inspect all plugs and extension cables for secure connection.
  • Test the RGB controllers: Swap the working controller to the non-working setup.
    If the issue follows the controller, it is faulty.
    If not, the problem may be with plugs or cabling.
  • Replace faulty parts: If the controller is the issue, contact us for a replacement.
    If plugs are loose, re-secure to resolve the problem.

6. App Not Pairing or Not Controlling Lights

Possible Cause: App or Bluetooth connection issue.
Solution:

  • Follow our App Troubleshooting Guide: Ensure the app is up to date.
  • Confirm Bluetooth is on and Airplane Mode is off.
  • Allow all permissions required by the app.
  • Restart your phone if needed.
