Bluetooth App(s) - Troubleshooting
If you're experiencing issues with BLEDIM2, MagicLED, or LED Lamp, follow this guide to resolve common problems when connecting or controlling your RGB products.
1. The Device Does Not Show Up in the App
✅ Check Power Supply: Ensure the lighting controller is receiving power. If your lights are not turning on, check the fuse and wiring connections.
✅ Reconnect the Power Source: If the device isn't appearing in the app, pull out the fuse or disconnect power for 30 seconds, then reconnect it.
✅ Ensure Bluetooth is Enabled: Go to your phone’s settings and confirm that Bluetooth is turned on.
✅ Turn Off Airplane Mode: Airplane Mode disables Bluetooth. If it's on, turn it off and try again.
✅ Restart the App & Phone: Close the app completely, restart your phone, and relaunch the app.
2. The Device Won’t Connect or Keeps Disconnecting
✅ Check if the Device is Already Connected to Another Phone:
- The controller can only connect to one device at a time. If it's already paired to another phone, disconnect it and retry.
✅ Reset the Connection:
- Forget the device from your Bluetooth settings and try reconnecting it through the app.
✅ Reconnect the Power Source:
- If the device still won't connect, pull the fuse or disconnect the power for at least 30 seconds before trying again.
✅ Check App Permissions:
- Ensure the app has the necessary Bluetooth, Location, and Storage permissions in your phone settings.
✅ Try a Different Device:
- If you’re having trouble on one phone, try installing the app on another phone or tablet to see if the issue persists.
3. The App Connects but the Lights Won’t Respond
✅ Confirm You’re Controlling the Right Device:
- If multiple devices appear in the app, ensure you’ve selected the correct one.
✅ Check App Settings:
- Some apps have different control modes (RGB, Music, Mic, Custom Scenes) – make sure the correct mode is selected.
✅ Power Cycle the System:
- Turn off the power to the lighting system, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
✅ Reinstall the App:
- If the app is unresponsive, delete and reinstall it from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
4. The Lights Flicker or Change Colours Unexpectedly
✅ Check the Power Supply:
- Insufficient power can cause flickering. Ensure you’re using a stable 12V power source, as required.
- Check for loose wiring connections between the controller and the LED strips.
✅ Avoid Signal Interference:
- If you have multiple controllers, interference can occur. Move devices apart or try controlling one at a time.
5. The Music Sync or Custom Scenes Don’t Work
✅ Grant Microphone & Storage Permissions:
- The app needs Microphone access to sync with music playing externally.
- Some apps require Storage permissions to sync with music stored on your device.
✅ Use In-App Music Player:
- If the app has a built-in music player, use it instead of external streaming services.
✅ Check Compatibility:
- Not all RGB lighting products support music sync or custom modes.
