2010 Nissan
Patrol GU Series 4
Having a rear fit out that just works is unmatched.
White, tall and built for the high country. Corey Ziems' 2010 Nissan Patrol GU Series 4 has carried the WELIVN plates around NSW for four years, built up drawer by drawer and arm by arm into a proper long distance tourer.
The TB48 stays factory under the bonnet, backed by the RE5 auto and a custom tune from Brad Smith. A Radius Fabrications 4 inch low cut snorkel feeds it, a Brown Davis 148L long range tank keeps it out bush longer, and a dual battery setup with 180W of Roam Gear solar keeps the fridge cold without needing to find a powerpoint.
Stance comes from Dobinson MRA remote reservoir shocks and matched springs, 4 inches up front and 3 at the rear, running through Buds Customs front long arms, adjustable panhard, drag link and upper rear arms. Extended sway bar links, 80 Series bump stops, shock towers raised 55mm, 4 inch extended brake lines, drop out cones and coil retainers round out the geometry. It rolls on KMC Grenade Crawl wheels, 17x9 with a -38 offset, wrapped in 35x12.5 Nitto Trail Grappler mud terrains.
Lighting is the signature. Blacked out Angry Eye headlights run up front and CX6 RGBW rock lights sit under the sills, framed by a Radius Fabrications GU bar, rock sliders and roof rack, with a Raslarr Engineering V2 rear bar carrying the spare and jerry cans. A pair of KC Hilites FLEX Era 4s add extra reach either side of the bar.
The real work is out back. Corey built the drawer system himself, twin stacked drawers on the right and a single drawer with a slide out hardwood bench and upright Kings 85L fridge on the left, topped by an Outback Tourer 1.2X rooftop tent and 270 awning. Favourite spots are scattered through the Victorian High Country. Next up is a new bonnet, a full 12V rebuild, GTS seats with a custom trim, a head unit, rear long arms, and getting the body straight and painted.
